My situation is rather different. The groom’s parents are paying for a wedding.

My parents are foreign citizens. At this point we are not sure even if they will be able to obtain the US visas. Of course, we are hoping for a best.

What is an appropriate invitation wording in such instance?

Hello Iesia,

As a general rule, the parents paying for the wedding are the ones issuing the invitations. So in your case, it would be acceptable to have only your Groom's parents names on the invitations. The wording could be something like this:

The Parents of (Your Groom's name here) and Iesia (last name) request the honour of your presence at the marriage of their children at . . .

I hope this helps you.

Dear Appropriate,

I agree with only a little tweek. The bride is not the groom's parent's child. So, the invitation would probably read: Mr. and Mrs. Groom's Parents request the honour of your presence at the marriage of Bride to Groom etc.

It will be obvious that the groom's parents are hosting because the last name is the same for the parent as for the son. You may also want to honor the bride's parents by including them as: Mr. and Mrs. Groom's Parents request the honour of your presence at the marriage of Bride also daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bride's Parents to Groom etc.
