Hi, my friend is getting married in a few weeks. I have been invited and am expected to attend. I will have to take two days off work to travel there and to attend. With the invitation they sent a saying no gift is required but if desired please give money to for the honeymoon. I know they need a lot of things to start out. What to do so as not to seem rude? ps I don't have much money.

You shouldn't worry about appearing rude. These friends obviously do not know proper etiquette otherwise they would have known that it is impolite to list no gifts on a wedding invitation and even more impolite to suggest a gift preference. I would honor their request and bring only my good wishes (and my appetite!). [:)]

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate your advice! My employer has now offered me two additional work dates to make up for the days I must take off to attend (which I am going to do). Now what should I do about the gift? (just cause they were misguided, I don't want to be rude!)

Again, if they have said "no gifts" I would comply but if you feel you must send something then perhpas you could make a donation to a charity in their name.
