I have 8 bridesmaids that are all different sizes, 1 might even be pregnant at the time of the wedding. I was thinking of asking them each to wear their own black knee length dress in the wedding, but I feel like I may be too much of a control freak for that option. I want everyone to feel comfortable, but how to do I ask them to wear something and be sure that I am going to like it?

Allowing your bridesmaids to choose their own dress style is very generous of you, however, managing 8 women's preference can be a challenge. Could you choose a couple of black cocktail dresses and allow the bridesmaids to select from those styles? That will allow them to choose a dress that suits them, leaving the dress available to wear again, while giving you some level of control. The woman who may become pregnant is an issue you may have to deal with as you go since you're not sure if she will be pregnant and how far along she may be at the time of the wedding. But a knee length black dress is something ever woman can wear again.

I think Wedding Queen has a great idea! Limiting your bridesmaids choices can make everyone happy!

I also agree that this is a perfect option!
