Wearing a strapless bridesmaids dress while breast feeding?

My due date is September 23d, and my cousin's wedding is October 15th. I will be breastfeeding, and was just wondering if I can wear a strapless dress a few weeks after giving birth while breastfeeding? Also, she is picking out a dress with ruching on the bodice and breast area, will that be uncomfortable for me so soon after giving birth? This is my first so I have nothing to compare it too.

Women are all different when it comes to their comfort in a strapless dress and about the subject of breastfeeding. I'm not sure anyone can tell you how you're going to feel. However, I would guess you'll be feeling a bit top heavy and you'd want some support. See if you can get yourself a supportive nursing bra that can be made strapless. Might be a tough feat. Ask the seamstress at the bridal shop for recommendations.

As always, great advice from the Moderator. Also, try to talk to your cousin, perhaps you can wear same dress WITH the straps, or have it re-worked into a halter top, which would make you much more comfortable. It is not unusual today for bridesmaids to wear dresses made of the same fabric, in the same color, but in different styles to better suit their body shapes.

I completely agree. Great advice by the way.

There is nothing wrong with asking for a different style top.
